Welcome to my little nook in cyberspace.

As a writer, my mind is often brimming with random thoughts and ideas. ‘Afternotes’ is really an outlet to channel all that is overflowing (and sometimes blocking my creativity). Expect political think-pieces, personal essays, some fiction, poetry and little insights into my writing journey as I tackle the mountain that is writing a novel.

My writing draws from my love for storytelling and my observations and experiences as a Muslim woman who has often been the only visible Muslim and woman of colour in creative spaces.

All inquisitive minds welcome! I’m excited to be able to connect with fellow writers and readers alike.
